ITINERARY

Thursday 3rd Oct – Airport Transfer to Bédoin

We will pick you up from Marseille airport in the morning and transfer you to our hotel base just outside the race HQ of Bedoin. We will also drop by the TVG station at Avignon if you prefer to arrive by train. You can also go directly to the hotel – details in the road book.We have all necessary tools to help you build up your bikes. We will then head into Bedoin to pick up your race packs and you can stretch your legs around this very cycling orientated village. A short ride would be a good plan before getting ready for the Haute Route Welcome meeting and Pasta Party.

Friday 4th Oct – HAUTE ROUTE Stage 1

Original – 114Km 3100m
Compact – 92Km 2100m

The 1st of the 3 stages begin today. So after a decent breakfast you can roll down to the start in Bedoin. Todays stage climbs 3 cols before you start the ascent of Mt Ventoux from the Sault approach. This is the longer side but a little more gentle than the other 2, but don’t be fooled, the 6Km from Chalet Raynard is the infamous “tough” section. In the afternoon you can relax at the hotel and enjoy your evening meal and chat about tomorrow.

Saturday 5th Oct – HAUTE ROUTE Stage 2

Compact 101Km 1700m

With the experience of stage 1 in your legs you will now be all set for stage 2. A slightly longer day with 4 named climbs before the main event, the ascent from Malaucène. The one positive about todays finish is that you do not repeat the section from Chalet Reynard.

Sunday 6th Oct – HAUTE ROUTE Stage 3

Compact 21.5Km 1580m ITT

The 3rd and final ascent of this epic climb. Today you ride for yourself and experience the mountain in an individual time trail. The start from Bedoin will be buzzing as you take the ramp, the only descent for 21.5Km. You know the Chalet Raynard so it is head down to fight through the final 6Km of this 3 day race.
You then have the afternoon to relax and pack your kit before the final celebratory meal.

Monday 7th Oct – Transfers

We will head off to the airport and train station just after breakfast. We will aim to reach the airport by 10:30 for midday and afternoon flights. You can now put your legs up and start thinking about the next challenge, there are still plenty out there.
